Sun Sports began 2016 with a 2-0 derby win over local rivals Oxhey Jets on Tuesday which lifts them up to 11th place in the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division.
It was Sun who had the first chance to score but Karl Penny missed a penalty after 12 minutes.
However, Jets didn't get off the hook there and the hosts went in front after 23 minutes when Dom David netted.
Penny atoned for his spot kick miss with 20 minutes remaining by doubling Sun's lead.
Paul Hobbs' side never looked back though Jets saw a penalty appeal of their own turned down.
Sun travel to Holmer Green on Saturday before hosting Biggleswade United on Tuesday evening.

Inconsistency continues to plague Sun Sports in the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division after they followed defeat at Hadley on Saturday with victory over Colney Heath on Tuesday.
Saturday’s 1-0 loss at Hadley was confirmed with 15 minutes to go.
On Tuesday a topsy-turvy game saw Sun emerge 3-2 winners at Colney Heath. Behind after eight minutes the visitors levelled when Kyle Johnson scored on his senior debut.
Jack Johnson tucked away a penalty and Karl Penny added a third a minute before the break.
Heath rallied in the second period and pulled one back but couldn’t find an equaliser.
Paul Hobbs’ side travel to London Tigers on Saturday and visit Holmer Green on Tuesday.

It’s been a tough week for Sun Sports who shipped nine goals in two games and were dumped out of the Premier Division Cup.
On Saturday Sun went down 5-1 at leaders London Colney – Joseph Kelly with the visitors’ consolation – before exiting the cup 4-1 at the hands of Welwyn Garden City on Tuesday evening. Karl Penny netted on that occasion.
Sun host Cockfosters on Saturday.

Sun Sports were beaten 3-1 at home to Welwyn Garden City on Tuesday night.
The hosts were blown away after conceding three goals in the opening 45 minutes.
Sun Sports improved after the break and got on the scoresheet through substitute Liam James but it was not enough to spark a comeback.
Sun Sports were held to a 1-1 draw at Tring Athletic on Saturday.
Tring made a fast start to the match and their pressure resulted in an early goal through Joe Naylor when he rounded the goalkeeper and tapped the ball into the net.
Home shot stopper Matt Evans then did well to smother an effort from Sam Warrell.
Sun Sports grabbed their equaliser in the 72nd minute when Karl Penny applied the finishing touch at the back post.

Nine-man Sun Sports lost 3-0 at home to Hertford in the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division on Tuesday.
Trailing 1-0 since the third minute, things went from bad to worse for Sun who lost Ashley Lewis to a straight red for a two-footed challenge half an hour later.
Nathan Pooley was sent off on the hour and Sun duly conceded twice more.
On Saturday Sun beat Harefield United 2-0 thanks to goals from Jack Johnson and Liam James.

In the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division Sun Sports returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory at Wembley on Tuesday evening.
Both sides wasted presentable chances before Clement Asante got the game’s only goal to move Sun up to tenth place in the league standing.
On Saturday Paul Hobbs’ side went down 3-2 against Hadley. Goals from Joe Kelly and Nathan Pooley temporarily pulled the hosts level but Hadley prevailed in the end.

Sun Sports had to make do with a point despite scoring four at Stotfold, drawing 4-4. Nathan Pooley and Karl Penny had Sun ahead before Penny and Reon Thomas scored in the final ten to secure a draw.
Saturday had seen ten-man Sun beaten 4-2 by Holmer Green with a Penny brace not enough.
