Sun Engraving 3 Hatfield United 3                          1936/37                           Herts County league

Sun hold the Champions

Sun Engraving entertained Hatfield United, the champions of the County League on Saturday, the result being a 3-3 draw.
There was no score until just before the interval when Watson snapped up a chance for Hatfield.
Three minutes after half time Callow had put the Sun ahead following brilliant play by the home forwards.
Then it was Hatfield's turn to press, and they gave Lewis many anxious moments.
Platt eventually equalised from a corner taken by Evans.
From there until the end it was a ding-dong struggle, five minutes from time the Sun scored from a penalty, Gibbs being the marksman, and three minutes later Trevers was penalised for a foul on Clayton and Warner converted the kick.
It was a sensational finish to an exciting game. neither side could grumble at the result.
