Sun Engraving 2 Watford Orient 1 1939/40 Watford FC Medal Competition Semi Final
Sun Engraving in the final
The Sun Engraving beat Watford Orient at Vicarage Road on Wednesday evening in the semi final of the Watford FC Medal Competition.
After 25 minutes Callow put the "Sun" ahead after working his way into the centre.
Straight away Dann equalised with a cleverly placed shot into the far corner of the net.
After the changeover the "Sun" took the lead through Hunt and although Watford Orient strived hard to equalise, their efforts were fruitless.

Sun set example but lost players pied their chance
We had a second helping of this Printers Pie Medal Competition final at Vicarage Road on Monday in the shape of extra time.
Sun were two up through Callow and Hunt (penalty) when they lost their best forward - Jackson - with an ankle injury.
Ten men fought valiantly but could not prevent Tates and Wakelin equalising.
It was not until nine minutes from time Odhams got on terms and I'll wager that Wakelin couldn't turn his back to the ball and "ankle it" in again in 100 attempts.
In the first five minutes of extra time Martin and Wakelin put Odhams ahead, but the Sun were not finished and Callow reduced the lead.
When Martin scored Sun only had nine men on the field.
Outstanding player was Williams, and others that caught the eye were Reed, Tunbridge and Yates (Odhams) and Powell and Lovett (Sun).
It was a good, hearty game but I wondered why a wing half was allowed to infringe the throw in law throughout.
