Sun Sports could afford to take their foot off the pedal after leaving Agrevo stunned with three goals in the opening 20 minutes.
Chris Hewitt opened the score with a rare header before Michael Woolner (two) and Andrew Wood added to the score in Sun's 4-1 success.
But manager Terry Hows was disappointed with his team's effort late in the game after effectively securing the points so early on.
However, he is confident Sun can offer more this season.
He said: "The score line probably looked better than it was and although we're pleased to be second, we are not firing on all cylinders yet
