Sun Sports 3 Colney Heath 2 Herts County League Prem 19994/95
Defending champions Sun Sports moved closer to the top with a 3-2 win over struggling Colney Heath in a game that was full of excitement.
Twice Sun were behind to Heath before substitute Darren Hardwick turned the game from midfield in the final 30 minutes.
"They are a far better side than the league table suggests," said Sun's Tom Barber. "It was a superb game and both keepers were outstanding. it could easily have been 9-6."
Sun's Trevor Davis was inspired between the posts, saving in four one to one situations and generally keeping his side in the game when they were under pressure.
Heath went ahead in the 44th minute but Sun drew level in first half injury time, Brian White lashing home Alan Langdale's long throw.
In the 62nd minute Heath went back in front but then Hardwick began to work wonders in the middle of the park.
Nine minutes later he grabbed the equaliser, heading home Langdale's cross.
Doug Taylor then saw a cross touched onto the bar by the Heath keeper before he gifted Sun their winner in the 88th minute.
Taylor shot from 25 yards and the keeper could only help the ball into the net.
"It was a real shame for their keeper because he had played very well and frustrated us time and time again."
