Sun Sports 3 Evergreen 0 Aubrey Cup Quarter Final 1994/95
Sun Sports finally killed off battling Evergreen to progress in the Aubrey Cup with a 3-0 win.
The pitch held up well despite two heavy downpours during play and Evergreen's young but enthusiastic side made sure Sun had to work for their win.
"They stepped up a gear and put us under pressure from the start and never gave up. But, in the end, we got a grip of the game from midfield," said Sun's Tom Barber.
The opening goal did not arrive until two minutes before half time when Doug Taylor met Andy Wood's corner to head home.
It stayed 1-0 until the 78th minute. Then substitute Alan Dunton went on a 35 yard run before pulling the ball back for Wood to smash home.
The third goal came in the 87th minute when another Dunton cross was converted by Joe Maguire.
