Sun  Sports 3 Knebworth 2                       Herts County League Prem                  1994/95

Title hopefuls Sun face a fixture pile-up

It could be the pending fixture pile-up, rather than Sandridge's current lead, that stops Sun Sports retaining the Premier Division title.
With Sandridge dropping two points in a goalless draw at Oxhey Jets, Sun took the chance to close the gap with a 3-2 win against Knebworth.
However, with midweek games commencing next week, Sun and their reserves face a hectic schedule between now and the end of the season.
With many of their players also involved in Sunday football, some squad members could be facing up to five or even six games a week.
"That is going to be a real problem," says Sun's Terry Hows, "We've had to go through it before but it doesn't make catching Sandridge any easier."
The win over Knebworth was much needed but should have been more comprehensive.
"We needed a win after getting trounced in the cup a week ago. We should have won by more but picking up three points was the most important thing."
Richie Galvin broke away to slot home Sun's first after 15 minutes and they doubled their lead after 30 minutes when Andrew Wood broke the offside trap to score.
Knebworth were gifted a goal just before the break but Galvin scrambled a goal after 65 minutes to make it 3-1.
Sun were made to sweat before the end though as Knebworth made it 3-2 with 10 minutes left.
