Barry Smith's first half penalty was enough to give Sun both points and virtually assure them of promotion to the Premier Division.
Manager Keith Hargreaves said: "We still need one more point to be absolutely certain, but I can't see Mount Grace catching us now."
Despite the 1-0 score, Sun were never under any real pressure and Hargreaves said: "We were content to coast along, waiting for our opportunities."
Goalkeeper Gary Boarder did not have a save to make during the 90 minutes.
Sun don't play again now until April 25th when they meet Knebworth Reserves, ironically Hargreaves former club.
"It will give us a chance to get some of our players fit again, " said Hargreaves.
