Sun Postal Sports 2 Tring Athletic 0 1995/96 Herts Senior Centenary Trophy
In the Herts Senior Centenary Trophy, Sun Postal Sports upset South Midlands League side Tring Athletic.
It was a fine result for Sun to knock out a side used to playing against sterner opposition week in, week out.
Sun's Tom Barber said, "The players lifted themselves for the game and played very well."
"Whether it was because we raised our game or perhaps they had an off day but there certainly didn't seem to be much of a gap between the two sides. We deserved to win because everyone gelled together to form a team unite that was very difficult to break down."
Sun had to wait until eight minutes into the second half before they broke the deadlock.
Alan Langdale finished off a superb six man move that flowed from one end to the other.
Then Phil Walker sealed a safe passage into the second round, scoring his fourth goal in four games.
John Pettifer sent in a stinging shot from almost 30 yards that the Tring keeper failed to hold.
Who should be there but Walker to punish the hapless keeper for his mistake.
