Sun lift Senior League after a 50 year wait

After more than 50 years of waiting, Sun Sports finally laid their hands on the Herts Senior County League title at the weekend with a 5-2 win at Colney Heath.
After a long, hard season, fittingly the performance was arguably their best of the season.
It took 40 minutes, however, to open the scoring when Darren Seabrook lobbed in from 20 yards.
Matt Bowen increased the lead two minutes into the second half with the move of the match, Seabrook heading in at the far post after 59 minutes.
Seabrook went on to score two more, a left foot volley after 70 minutes and finally a close range effort with nine minutes remaining.
Afterwards, spokesman Tom Barber paid tribute to the team: "A fine hardworking team effort won this game and sums up their performance over the season."
He also singled out the performances of defender Tony Spicer, 16 years at the club, and goalkeeper Simon Bartlett, his first season at Sun.
Congratulations should also go to manager Roger Cowan, right hand man George Stephenson and trainer John Perks.
"It's been a long time coming." said Barber, "but worth the wait."
