Woolatt rockets send Bovingdon into final
Two extra time strikes booked Bovingdon an Aubrey Cup Final ticket after a 3-2 victory over rivals and holders Sun Sports.
Goals from Paul Woolatt and substitute Gary Davies sent Bovingdon through with Joe Maguire netting a second consolation with virtually the last kick of the match.
Although Sun's Matt Bowen and Mark Gregory were controversially sent off in the first half, both teams afterwards enthused about a great game of football.
"They scored two stunning goals," said Sun spokesman Tom Barber.
"It was a smashing game that would have made a great final. they are a good side, Bovingdon."
"There was not a bad player on the pitch," said Bovingdon's Chris Swann.
"The players showed real passion, it was a magnificent performance."
The two great goals Barber spoke about belonged to Woolatt.
The first came after only 15 minutes, shooting home from all of 25 yards wide out on the left and in off the post.
That was how the scores stayed until 10 minutes from time when John Field ensured the extra period following a set piece move.
Within five minutes of extra time Woolatt blasted home low into the corner from 30 yards out.
And before Sun could recover their composure Davies had scored the third.
