Grieves pounces to steer Sun through
Darren Grieves grabbed two last gasp goals in the second period of extra time against Sandridge Rovers to seal his treble and keep Sun Postal's Aubrey Cup hopes alive.
The in form striker pulled his team back from an early deficit to force extra time and then added to his tally with two vital goals for a 3-1 result.
The Premier Division team, currently third in the table, are making habit of netting a hat trick against their unfortunate opponents.
Four weeks ago, Richard Galvin was the culprit when Sun travelled to Sandridge Rovers and won 3-0.
In a match dominated by the wind, Sandridge, three places below Sun in the table, took the lead against the run of play after 21 minutes.
Sun had won numerous crosses and looked certain to score, but it was Rovers' Mark Vidgen who hit a 25 yard screamer for a surprise advantage.
The home team finally capitalised on their pressure when an Ian Smithson cross allowed the unmarked Grieves to head in the equaliser after 37 minutes.
In the second half, Sandridge took control forcing Sun keeper Warren Killen to make several good saves, but it was Sun who eventually broke the deadlock late in extra time.
Smithson was provider once again for Sun's second after 109 minutes and then an unselfish move by Galvin gifted Grieves with his third of the day.
