Outsiders for much of the season, Sun Sports, moved into the championship frame by beating Bedmond 2-0.
If they win their remaining six games, then they could also sneak the title.
A mistake by goalkeeper John Noonan allowed Sun to take a 12th minute lead, Noonan came off his line, failed to make a cross, and Denny Fletcher was able to rise up and head the ball into a gaping net.
Fletcher added a second before half time - and Sun collected another two valuable points.
Bedmond came close to reducing the deficit after the break, but Brian Johnson, Chris Goodman and Bobby Harper were all unable to find a way past the impressive Gary Boarder.
Saturday's victory was Sun's second win over Bedmond inside three days.
On Thursday night they beat Derrick Jones' side 2-1 in the Apsley Cup semi final - Denny Fletcher scoring the winner eight minutes from time.
