Promoted or not, Sun Sports Hargreaves to call it a day
Sun Sports manager Keith Hargreaves will be leaving the club at the end of the season - even if his side wins promotion.
Hargreaves has steered Sun to striking distance of the Premier Division this year.
They are third in Division One and look odds on favourites to gain promotion.
But the amiable Hargreaves said, "I shall be leaving at the end of the season."
"I feel the club is at a stage where they need someone to take charge for the next four years - and I'm not prepared to commit myself for that length of time."
"I have achieved what I set out to do 18 months ago. The Club needed re-organisation and new players, and I think I have done that."
"With the help of trainers Ron Kelly and John Perkis we've got the best out of the players this season."
Now I need a break. I shall be playing golf and taking my son to watch Nottingham Forest."
Hargreaves, who spent eight years at Knebworth, first as a player, then as a manager before joining Sun believes his successor will inherit a good Premier League side.
"If they are prepared to stay at the club for four years and put the effort in, then there is no reason why Sun should not be one of the most successful teams in the area." he said.
