Bushey Rangers 2 Sun Sports Reserves 3 1973/74 HCL Div One
Two Sun Sports Reserves' players were sent off as they won a furious top v bottom clash against Bushey Rangers with the last kick of the game on Wednesday night.
Reduced to nine men for the final 15 minutes, Sun poached two more crucial points in their quest for the County League Division One title when Ray Cole jinked through for a last ditch winner.
But as they freely admitted, they were more than a little lucky to escape with both points.
Bushey Rangers, vastly improved in recent weeks, looked anything but a relegation haunted team.
They led through an early Les Nash goal and it took a penalty - converted by John Aldridge to restore the balance just before half time.
Two minutes after the break Aldridge headed Sun in front, but a Joe Bates free kick slipped through goalkeeper Paul Barnes' arms to pull Bushey back on terms.
Then the game began to get out of hand.
Tony Evident was booked after clashing with Rangers' outstanding striker Ritchie Dormer, then Aldridge was sent off - apparently for dissent.
In the 75th minute Sun teenager Alan Potts allegedly retaliated and showed dissent, and he too was ordered to the dressing rooms.
But Sun battled on to score a heroic win, and doom Rangers to further weeks of scrambling away from the foot of the table.
