Closure threat for Sun Sports                        1984/85                         From Watford Observer

The Sun Sports Club faces closure unless members can rally round at this week's annual meeting.
The popular club, In Bellmountwood Avenue on the Cassiobury estate, is urging its members to turn up at Sunday's meeting.
Secretary Mike Jeffs explained: "Apathy has taken over. the club desperately needs a proper management committee to look after the running of the club."
"There have been just two people running things for too long. It can't carry on like that."
The club - owned by BPCC, which owns the Whippendell Road print works - still runs five football teams, a bowls and a tennis section.
Membership currently stands at 1,500 people.
Mr Jeffs added: "All we are asking is that members get here on Sunday morning for the meeting to elect a management committee.
If the members don't rally round, the club will be in the hands of the company."
