Slithering Sun Sports' last chance of the Premier Division title slipped away when they were beaten 1-0 by Aubrey Cup finalists Leavesden Hospital.
Sun needed to win the match to stand any chance of staying with leaders Cockfosters and Sandridge Rovers.
But a Simon Cumberpatch goal and the brilliance of goalkeeper Mick McDonough denied them the much needed points.
Cumberpatch scored midway through the first half, Sun defender Andy Morton slipped on the edge of the penalty area and Cumberpatch latched onto the opportunity to beat Sun goalkeeper Gary Boarder.
However, Sun were denied a certain equaliser just before the break when McDonough went full stretch to tip Willy Ahearn's superbly struck shot over the crossbar.
