Leavesden boss says he could easily quit
Leavesden Hospital boss Roger Cowen admitted that he could have easily resigned after his side had slumped to yet another defeat on Saturday.
Leavesden were beaten 2-1 by fellow strugglers Sun Sports in the Herts Senior County League and Cowen said: "I just don't know where to go from here. I've done everything I can but we can't carry on giving goals away like we did on Saturday."
"We didn't deserve a lot from Saturday and we're looking like a side in danger of being relegated. I'm doing my best but we're playing with very little confidence at the moment and it's not getting any better."
Sun, delighted with the three points, were a goal up after just four minutes when a Leavesden defender put through his own goal.
Cliff Sage equalised, but substitute Keith Hall rubbed the salt into the wound by scoring against his former club.
John Barnard crossed and Hall, who has been out with a knee injury, nipped in to head the winner.
Midfielder Brian Ashby and striker Tony Price played well for Sun and manager Doug Davies said: "We had a bit of luck on Saturday, but it's been a long time coming."
