Willy Ahearn, enjoying his best ever season, helped Sun Sports to another two points in the Premier Division.
A goal from Dave Churchill - he deflected a Tony Spicer shot - put Sun in front.
However, sloppy defensive work let Potters Bar in for an equaliser.
It was then left to Ahearn to work his magic.
He was brought down in the box and Mark East slotted home the penalty.
"They didn't know how to handle Willy," said Sun manager Graham Legg, "He spent most of the afternoon on his back."
