Sun Sports 2 Tudor Corinthians 0                             1974/75                                      HCL Prem

George's irony

It was a day of irony at Bellmountwood Avenue, where Sun Sports beat Tudor Corinthians 2-0 to move into the top five.
Managers in opposition were Terry Rogers and George Lapthorne.
Last season Lapthorne was reserve boss at Sun and his team comprised most of the players that now make up Roger's first team.
Last season Rogers endured a lengthy lean spell with Sun's seniors while Lapthorne's reserves stretched an unbeaten run near 30 matches.
This season, Rogers and Sun are undefeated after seven games, Lapthorne and Tudors are without a victory after eight games.
Times change....
Once Kenny Littleboy had put Sun ahead, the result rarely looked in doubt.
Both sides were without three regular players but Sun looked the more composed and talented combination and made the game safe with a second goal, from Don Keen, just after half time.
Tudors then began to play some of their best football of the season, and with the absentees back tomorrow they must fancy their chances of breaking their duck against Harpenden Rovers - the only side below them in the division.
