Sun Sports "A" 7  The Herts 1                          1982/83                       South West Herts League

Three own goals

Sun Sports "A" were given more than a helping hand in their South West Herts Saturday League game.
Their opponents, The Herts, must have forgotten what way they were kicking as they put three goals past their own goalkeeper.
Player manager Mangus Andrews started the rot after just eight minutes.
He put through his own goal but could not believe what followed.
Defenders Jimmy Lees and Dave Chance followed the act and gave Sun a 3-0 lead.
With three goals to build on, Sun went on to win quite comfortably 7-1, although Mel Clayton scored the best goal of the game for The Herts near the end.
He rifled in a 35 yard shot that flew in the net.

All the other South West Herts League matches were called off because of the weather.
