Mill End 0 Sun Sports 2 1975/76 Herts Intermediate Cup
Sun Sports close on first trophy
Sun Sports moved even closer to their first major trophy with a confident display against Middlesex League outfit Mill End in the quarter final of the Herts Intermediate Cup on Saturday.
the Herts County League Premier Division side, forced to play reserve players due to the absence of Tony Evident, Don Keen and Frank Warner - all suffering with flu - took until the 68th minute to score.
Then a Ray Cole shot rebounded in the path of Hugh Boycott-Brown who gave Mill End's goalkeeper no chance of a second escape.
The home team seemed to falter slightly as Sun took the initiative loosing several more attacks, which finally resulted in reserve team player Jim Kempster finishing an Ian Atkins cross to sew it all up.
