Champions London Colney began their defence with a 2-2 draw at Sun Sports.
Steve Pattison cracked home a penalty after Chris Price had handled the ball in the box.
Brian Ashby, the hero of last season's Aubrey Cup final, equalised and then Colney went ahead again before Ashby struck his second goal of the match to make sure Sun earned a point from their first fixture of the season.
Sun grabbed another point on Wednesday night when they drew 1-1 with Sarratt.
