Sun Sports 3 Elliott Star 2                                1989/90                                  Aubrey Cup 2nd Rd

Holders Sun in superb comeback

Determined Sun Sports shocked Elliott Star by coming from 2-0 down to win 3-2 in the Aubrey Cup second round.
Sun appeared to be tumbling out of the competition they took last May by beating Chipperfield Corinthians as Elliott slammed in two first half goals.
But that advantage was built with the help of a gusting wind and when the teams swapped round Sun exploited it even more ruthlessly.
Dave O'Reilly launched their fight back when he netted straight from a corner five minutes into the second period.
Elliott were then swept away as the home side recorded further strikes through Brian Ashby and Johnny White.
"That is not the first time O'Reilly has scored direct from a corner," said Sun manager Dave Males.
"It was given some help by the wind but it was going in anyway, he is very good at set pieces."
Sun were further cheered by the return of Dean Cripps, playing his first senior game since suffering a broken nose in the recent FA Vase victory against Vauxhall Motors.
Herts County League Premier Division Sun side return to Vase action on Saturday with a home tie against Vauxhall League Division Two South Harefield United.
Males saw Harefield crash 3-0 to Chertsey in a league game on Tuesday evening but did not read too much into the result.
"That game had nothing to do with Saturday," he said.
