Males steps into the Sun hot seat

Dave Males will step into the Sun Sports hot seat this weekend after the resignation of manager Doug Davies who announced his decision to quit last week.
Males, the much respected manager of Sunday League side Verulam Arms, will take charge of the Sun first team tomorrow for the home match with BAC Stevenage.
"We had to act quickly," said club secretary Keith Hall, "We knew Doug wanted to stand down so we approached Dave and we were delighted when he accepted."
Davies, who took Sun to third spot in the Premier Division last season, said: "I just need a break, my wife is expecting a baby in a few weeks and I need to be at home. I want to stay in football and I will no doubt be watching some matches in the near future."
Males will pick up the reins with Sun having won one and lost one.
With Davies in charge on Saturday - the opening day of the new season - Sun beat Wormley Rovers 4-1.
Ian Thomas, Martin Ashby and Dean Cripps, from the penalty spot, put Sun in a commanding position at the break and Paul Foster, son of former Hemel Hempstead physio Bob, hit the fourth after the break.
Foster was again on target on Tuesday night, but Sun lost 2-1to Bedmond at Toms Lane.
Sun beat Bedmond four times last year but there was going to be no repeat of that as the former champions looked fired up for the local clash.
