Bushey Rangers 2 Sun Sports 6 1972/73 Aubrey Cup
Battling Bushey give Sun a big fright
Battling Bushey Rangers put up the performance of the day in an exciting Aubrey Cup second round tie against illustrious Sun Sports.
Rangers - separated by two divisions from the Premier League side - gave as good as they got for 80 minutes, before Sun put the issue beyond doubt with two late goals.
But Sun can thank goalkeeper Keith Warn for keeping their reputation intact.
He saved a penalty and pulled off a string of saves.
Bushey's Steve Cox equalised an eighth minute goal from John Aldridge, but lax defensive work gave Sun chances to gain a 4-1 interval lead.
Bushey roared back in the second half, however, and Cox reduced the deficit with a cracking 63rd minute effort.
But his hat trick bid was thwarted when Warn dived to half his penalty kick.
Spurred on by this reprieve, Sun then went on to score two late goals to clinch victory.
Sun's Graham Seabrook made full use of Rangers' slips to grab a hat trick, while John Aldridge was on the mark twice.
It was Rangers' first home defeat of the season.
