Sun's major reshuffle
Sun Sports football club will have a completely new image next season - following a major reshuffle at the club's AGM on Friday.
From the start of next season the club will have "a board of governors" made up of former players to make sure the football section is run on a sound basis.
Reserve team boss and ex player Ian Wright has tempted seven former Sun players to help manage the club.
Terry Rogers. Tony Stratford, Phil Hawkey, Jim Kempster, John Perks and Mick Thompson will become vice presidents and Tony Barton was elected chairman at the AGM.
The new "board", all successful local businessmen, will keep an eye on the day-to-day running of the club and relieve manager Graham Legg of all the duties he's been forced to carry out this season.
"We're all very excited about the move," said Wright, who has led the reserve side to the Second Division championship in the Reserve section of the Herts County League this year.
"It's about time the club was put on a sure footing. There's no reason why we shouldn't have a very successful season next year," he added.
At the AGM, Dick Hebbern was appointed fixture secretary: Brendan Duggan was appointed social secretary and keith Hall was appointed treasurer.
To mark the club's half centenary of being a member of the Herts County League in the summer, the newly formed committee are staging a 50th anniversary marquee at their Bellmountwood Avenue ground on August 17th, where they hope to attract as many former players as possible.
Graham Legg and Ian Wright have both applied to manage the club's first two teams next season but Wright said:
"The positions are both still open and anyone can apply for the posts."
