Sun Sports 3 Leverstock Green 1                         1983/84                               Aubrey Cup replay

Legg up for Sun Sports title hopes

Optimistic Sun Sports' manager Graham Legg believes his team are capable of sweeping all before them and winning the Premier Division title.
Following his sides 3-1 success against Leverstock Green in an Aubrey Cup second round replay, buoyant Legg beamed: "Make no mistake - we are aiming for top spot, and if we can't get that I want second place."
"Our attitude and commitment are superb at the moment, and the way we have been playing it's realistic to think we can win the league."
Since suffering a 4-1 reversal at championship favourites Cockfosters on September 10th, Sun have remained unbeaten....and grown in stature each week.
Legg added: "We have had a total of nine players sign on since then and things throughout the club are looking up. we have grown up and tightened up and I know we have become a very difficult side to beat."
"We are hustling and bustling and shooting at goal. we have reached the stage when I can't wait for Saturdays to come along."
From struggling to actually select 11 fit men earlier in the season, Legg now has the other extreme - an embarrassment of talent, with about 16 players challenging for a first team role.
Such strength in depth was illustrated against Leverstock Green who had held them to a 1-1 draw after extra time last week.
Even without the services of Dennis Fletcher and Tony Bull, Sun recovered from going behind to dominate and run out convincing winners thanks to stunning goals form Mark East and Wille Ahearn.
