Biggleswade United v Sun Sports 27th February 2016 SSML Premier
Sun Sports can be proud of their performance at Biggleswade United.
They took the game to United and a scrambled goal for Dom Dickinson on only seven minutes gave Sports the boost they needed.
It was Dom's first goal for Sun Sports and hopefully there will be more to come!
A couple of minutes later and Sun could have found themselves 2-0 up with an expertly chipped pass from Liam James finding Jack Johnson beating the United offside trap.
Before he ran out of space or a decent angle he cheekily lobbed the ball goal-bound which beat the keeper but bounced off the top of the crossbar.
Brima Johnson also found room in midfield to let fly but his shot went high and wide.
Twenty six minutes gone on the clock and a United attack saw Sun's Ross Hampton go out to smother the ball which the referee gave as a penalty.
Joyce stepped up to send Hampton the wrong way to give United the equaliser 1-1.
Things then went from bad to worse for the Sun as United attacked again with the cross coming through around the six yard box, although Hampton managed to block the first shot the ball fell kindly to Sweeney to tap in from barely three yards as Sun's defender's claim for offside fell on the officials deaf ears.
From then the confidence showed through for United who had won their last four league matches and they started to play their self styled "champagne football" in the second half.
Sun continued to play and battled for every ball as they showed belief that an equaliser could come.
Deji Ikuzemori had a chance that went over the bar which could have been a game changer had it been lower.
During the final few minutes Biggleswade United tried to wrap the game up but keeper Ross Hampton was there to smother the ball and when the last cross of the match came into the box no United player was there to mop it up as Brima Johnson calmly cleared the ball away in front of an empty net.
Sun Sports stay rooted in 13th place while Biggleswade United move up to eight in the table and are looking at a possible top five finish.
