Sun Sports v Kings Langley     5th May 2016       West Herts St Mary's Cup  Semi Final

2015/16: the season of upsets.
Leicester City won the Premier League...could anything be bigger than that?

Well how about Sun Sports beating the might of Kings Langley?

Sun came out for the West Herts St Marys Cup semi final on Thursday night fired up with all guns blazing and with a point to prove as at least six of the squad had come to the Sun from Kings Langley after Paul Hobbs left the club to take on a new challenge.
Langley tried to get an early goal but they seemed to leave their scoring boots at home.
Alex Ward had the first decent chance with a fantastic shot on goal which brought out a great save from the Kings keeper who certainly had his palms stung.
Within minutes Ward found himself in position to have another chance, took on the Kings Langley defence and had enough composure to try to slide the ball past the keeper again who stuck out a foot to make another fine save.
Langley tried to up their game and went up a gear, despite this the Sun lads worked hard for each other and kept pace with the Southern League Central Division One champions, what with the defence tightening up at the back
and Ross Hampton in goal making some important saves to keep it all square at half time.
For the start of the second half, Ashley Lewis came on for Jack Johnson and gave the Sun even more strength in midfield, making powerful attacking runs along with Brima Johnson who was always willing to run at the Langley defence and found himself with room to strike a shot which again the Langley keeper did realy well to keep out of the net.
But from the resulting corner Scott Bonner was unmarked and headed the ball hard and low into the net to make it 1-0 after 50 minutes.
Even though Kings Langley had opportunities to get an equaliser their finishing was woeful and although they made the excuse that they had four of their first team not available it still meant that at least seven of them on the pitch were first teamers.

Sun will play Tring Athletic in the final at Vauxhall Road on Monday 9th May. Kick off at 7.30
