Sun Sports v Oxhey FC        8th November 2016               West Herts St Mary's Cup  Quarter Final

Sun strolled into the semi final of the West Herts St Marys Cup for the second sucesssive season on Tuesday night against Oxhey FC.
The West Herts League champions gave the Sun a run for their money in the opening 20 minutes, using a well practised offside trap to frustrate the Sun forward line.
When Kyle Johnson first managed to beat the offside trap he then showed some fancy footwork to bamboozle the two Oxhey defenders then chipped the ball past the oncoming Oxhey keeper to give the Sun the lead.
From a corner Liam James bumped into the Oxhey keeper, causing him to lose the ball and it got bundled into the goal but was disallowed for a foul.
Kyle had another chance when he beat the offside trap but couldn't guide the ball in to the net as the ball went wide.
Oxhey had the chance to equalise when they were given a direct free kick which was curling into the top right corner but Matty Evans had enough spring in his step to palm the ball away for a great save.
Following a clash with Kyle Johnson the Oxhey number 4 lashed out in front of the referee who gave him a straight red card.
A move from middle of the Sun half ended up with Karl Penny free from his markers to put Sun further ahead against the ten men of Oxhey.
But soon it was ten men each as with the next opportunity Penny thought he beat the offside trap but the ref blew for play to stop.
Frustrated at this Karl kicked the ball towards goal, earning himself a yellow card but then his tongue run away with him as the referee then handed him a red card for dissent.
So the half time whistle went and the first 45 minutes saw two goals and two red cards.
Early in the second half and Oxhey got themselves a goal back courtesy of Jack Wilson rolling the ball into the back of the net.
With only one goal in it both sides had chances that weren't taken, Jack Johnson found himself through the defence with only the keeper to beat who managed to get a knee onto the shot to deflect it away.
Then the Johnson duo combined as Jack again skipped past a sliding tackle and carried on into the area with the ball when Kyle took over, sidestepping a defender to place his shot past the Oxhey keeper to make it 3-1.
But Oxhey keep fighting and nearly got another goal back when a header from a corner deflected off a Sun defender and the reflexes of Matty Evans saved the Sun as he flicked out an arm to block the ball.
With minutes to go Joe Horwood brought down an Oxhey player for the ref to give a penalty.
Matty Evans was a penalty king a fortnight ago and this proved to be the case again as he dived the right way to keep the Oxhey penalty out.
