Sun Sports v Harefield United 5th March 2016 SSML Premier
Sun hosted bottom dwellers Harefield United on Saturday and picked up another three points.
But it was United who started the brighter of the teams as an early chance of theirs hit the post.
Sun didn't really seem to be with it in the first 16 minutes and it looked as if they thought that just turning up would give them the three points, this was certainly not the case as United fought hard for every ball and every challenge and had a couple more near chances but, as it seems to be when you're in a relegation battle the rub of the green just doesn't go your way.
Ten minutes before the end of the first half a Nathan Pooley through ball found Jack Johnson in the box and although Johnson was heading to the byline it didn't look likehe was going anywhere but the United defender clattered into him to give the referee no option but to award a penalty.
Jack Johnson brushed himself down to take the spot kick himself and although the United keeper was trying to put him off Johnson stayed cool to slot the ball home to make it 1-0.
From there United's heads droppped and Sun Sports took control of the game, having another couple of close chances before the half time whistle went.
Early in the second half and the Sun contined to press for a second goal.
Joash Nembhard took a free kick just inside the Harefield half and tried to chip the ball into the net but the keeper parried backwards and managed to knock the ball over the bar.
Fifty seven minutes into the game and a cross found an unmarked Liam James in the box who dived and powered the ball into the Harefield goal for a sensational goal.
Jack Johnson had a free kick on the left side but his shot hit the side netting after half the ground thought that the ball had gone in.
Harefield thought that they had pulled a goal back but the referee called for a foul on Ross Hampton. The players were incensed by this as they surrounded the official.
Again Sun eased off the gas during the last few minutes and United had another chance when a long ball was headed down for a Harefield substitute but Ross Hampton spead himself well and blocked the ball with his foot.
Final score: Sun2 Harefield United 0
