Sun Sports v Cockfosters   12th December 2015   SSML Premier

Sun Sports got back to winning ways on Saturday with a fantastic 4-0 home win over Cockfosters.

Cockfosters attacked first and had a shot in the first few minutes which deflected off of Gary Wallace's knee although it looked that keeper Ross Hampton had the shot covered anyway.

Nathan Pooley turned up on the right hand side of the pitch and had a shot which narrowly went past the Fosters cross bar.

Captain for the day Ashley Lewis made some superb space for himself and found Sam Warrell with an excellent pinpoint pass, Warrell slipped as he took a shot from just outside the area but it beat the Cockfosters goalie to his right and into the back of the net to make it 1-0 to the Sun.

Sun had another attack not long after as Karl Penny beat his marker and found himself with some room inside the penalty area. Instead of having a go himself he pased the ball square to Ashley Lewis whose shot was exellently saved by the Foster's keeper.

Cockfosters then broke down their left and managed to cross the ball into the area.
Edwin Twesigomwe tried to clear the ball but it sliced off his foot and bounced past the post for a corner.

The reds tried to get themselves back into the game and had another opportunity to equalise from a free kick.
The kick went over the wall and had Hampton beat but not the goalpost as it thumped off the woodwork.

This wasn't the end of Fosters chances as they then had a penalty after Nathan Pooley clipped the red's forward in the box.

Ross Hampton was sent the wrong way but again the same post came to Sun's rescue as the penalty kick hit the bottom of the post to go out for a goal kick.

Lady Luck didn't seem to be on Cockfosters side and it turned out to be that Luck had definately turned her back on the North London side as a cross from Sam Warrell was headed up by a Fosters defender and looped over the keeper and into the back of the net to make it 2-0.

Fosters then had a chance to try and get the ball into the Sun net through a scambled attempt but it came to nothing.

The second half started and Cockfosters tried to get back into the match as not long into the half they broke through on the left and had to have a shot cleared off the line by Nathan Pooley.

But the game was virtually over by the 61st minute as a break down the right by Penny was passed to Marcel Jones whose shot was blocked by a defender and while the claim of "Handball" was still on everyone's lips the ball fell to Ashley Lewis to calmly knock the ball into the net for 3-0.

Karl Penny finished the scoring off by scoring the fourth goal in what was great and much needed result for Sun Sports.
