Tring Athletic v Sun Sports                        Dec 2014                              SSMLP

Sun Sports ensured Spartan South Midlands Premier Division leaders King Langley’s advantage was restricted to just three points by eking out a narrow 1-0 win at Tring Athletic.
The contest was settled by a second-minute effort from Nathan Pooley. The Tring backline were still in the festive mood as they allowed a simple through ball to pick out the run of Pooley to fire home after just 97 seconds.
Sun went close to doubling their lead in the 18th minute when centre-back Scott Bonner crashed a header against the crossbar.
Chris Vardy saw a goal disallowed after 34 minutes when he raced through to beat Ross Hampton, but the effort was ruled out due to an offside flag. Tring then hit the woodwork themselves three minutes later.
The hosts continued to press hard for an equaliser in the second period but could not make their possession or territory count as they eventually succumbed to defeat.
