FC Broxbourne Borough v Sun Sports 3rd March 2016 SSML Premier
Sun came away tonight from Goffs Lane with a well deserved three points.
Sun's Brima Johnson picked the ball up from the edge of the box following a cleared corner and stuck the ball hard towards goal but Liam James found himself in the way whacking him in the solar plexus which doubled him over.
Brima had a good first half and found space to take the ball towards the Boro goal again and let fly with his left foot, the ball was goalbound until the Boro made a fantastic flying save to keep the score level.
From the corner a perfectly placed pass from Dom Dickinson found Joash Nembhard whos' header hit the crossbar.
A long ball from Nathan Pooley found Jack Johnson in space but the Boro keeper came out to smother the ball.
While still in the first Nathan Pooley moved forward with the ball chipping the ball into the Boro penalty area where Jack Johnson cheekily flicked the ball to Dom Dickinson whos' chip lifted just over the bar.
In the second half Sun continued to press forward to take the lead, Dom Dickinson had a close range shot which tested the keeper's reflexes.
Right back Joash Nembhard again was given a lot of space to be able to bring the ball forward, as the Boro defence backed off Nembhard took a shot which rattled against the goal stantion.
Dickinson then had another chance with a shot that bounced off the post.
Despite the chances missed Sun continued to show flair and confidence which was eventually paid off as Brima Johnson found his namesake Jack who beat the offside trap and showed great composure as this time the ball beat the keeper and nestled in the back of the net on 57 minutes.
1-0 to the Sun.
Minutes later and Sun beat the failing offside trap again Ashley Lewis's shot beat the keeper and Liam James slid in to get his first goal of the season making it 2-0.
With the two goal cushion Sun sat back on their laurels for a while as Broxbourne tried to get back into the game, having a chance to reduce the deficit making Ross Hampton make his first serious save of the match.
From the resulting corner the ball wasn't cleared properly and fell to a Boro player on the edge of the box who hit the ball perfectly into the Sun net with six minutes to go.
Boro decided to go all out to get an equaliser and started to pump long balls into the box, however Sun managed to hang on and got the three points that they deserved.
