Contemptuous Bristols win
Sun Sports' second Premier Division defeat came on Saturday when close rivals Bristol Siddeley completed the "double" over them in Contemptuous fashion.
Bristols were always in control and it was only the lethargic attitude of their forwards and some stout defending from Sun that rationed them to two goals.
They had the chances to go ahead in the opening half but Sun managed to keep their goal intact and prevent any score by the interval.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 46th minute when John Byrne put Ellison away on the left and the winger crossed the ball low and hard for Howard Rutland to touch in.
Bristols seemed satisfied with this one goal advantage and it needed a rocket shot from skipper Barry Weightman that Cliff Langley kept out at full strength to wake them up.
Wingers Ellison and Robson began to tease the Sun full backs and sent over a number of wickedly accurate crosses but even then it needed a through ball from Jim Clanfield to pave the way for a second goal.
Ian McKinnon, recovering from flu, collected Clanfield's pass and rounded Chris Palmer and goalkeeper Langley before side footing the ball into the far corner of the net.
McKinnon was unlucky not to get another goal before the end when he moved in quickly as Langley could only parry a shot.
The ball rolled along the goal line and a defender kicked clear before the centre forward could pounce.
