Fracture fears are unfounded
A hospital x-ray after Saturday's Premier Division game at Parkside Drive brought good news to Bristol Siddeley officials, and to M Burns, who was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg.
The verdict was badly torn ligaments, bruising of the bone, and a damaged cartilage, but the leg was not fractured.
The injury, however, is likely to keep Burns out of the game for some weeks.
The accident happened soon after Bristol's had reduced arrears to 2-1.
Sun went on to add a further goal.
John Matthews was mainly responsible for the home side's 2-0 half time lead.
He laid on the first goal for Terry Reynolds and scored the second with a great shot after a fine run.
Bristol's scored in the 55th minute, but after losing Burns, could not get on terms and Barry Phillips went on to score Sun's third goal in the 80th minute after a good move involving Dave Barton and Ron Coles.
