North Mymms 5 Sun Sports 1 1966/67 HCL Prem
Sun's first defeat in two months
Horses for courses!
Some like the going firm, others prefer the soft surface.
Sun fall into the former category for they certainly did not like the quagmire conditions at North Mymms where in the second half they became bogged down and conceded a further three goals to two they had previously given away in the first period.
Sun, who have so far had a bit of a rough deal with nine of their first 12 matches away from home, looked to be on the way to picking up two more Premier Division points when Barry Phillips scored what appeared to be a perfectly good goal early on.
The North Mymms linesman flagged for a mystery infringement and the referee disallowed the goal.
This rather disheartened Sun who conceded two goals before Terry Reynolds reduced the arrears.
A third by Mymms soon after the restart virtually killed Sun's chances and as the defenders became bogged down , a poorly executed back pass and a penalty enabled Mymms to add to their total and become the first side to beat Sun since September 10th.
