Two newcomers shine for Sun
Two newcomers were Sun Sports heroe's when they pulled back from a 2-0 deficit to save a point in Saturday's Herts County League Premier Division game at Kings Langley.
They were former Watford School's skipper and ex- England Schoolboy international Mick Conroy, who was at one time on Tottenham's books, and Gerry Bunce, who spent last season in the colours of Watford F.C's Juniors in the South East Counties League.
Conroy was a tower of strength at centre half, and centre forward Bunce laid on Sun's first goal and scored a great second.
Langley were more impressive in the early stages, and a Richard Wright penalty gave them a 31st minute lead.
Four minutes later they were two ahead.
Lawes' left wing lob being helped into the net by the Sun goalkeeper.
Three minutes before half time Bunce slipped the ball to inside right Terry Reynolds, who flashed it home from 20 yards.
Bunce's goal came after 68 minutes when he moved into an open space just inside the Langley half, whipped past two defenders, and scored with a fine ground shot.
