Sun Sports 2 Marconi Instruments 1                         1967/68                                   HCL Prem

Sun still have to be beaten

Sun Sports are now the only unbeaten side in the Premier Divison.
Despite trailing by the only goal at half time of Saturday's game at London Colney they managed their sixth win out of seven games to keep the leaders well in sight.
Marconi showed touches of undoubted class in the opening half and their goal after 29 minutes from Sharp was just reward for some attractive football.
Only when Sun mounted a series of fierce attacks early in the second half did Marconi falter and allow their opponents to draw level.
Terry Reynolds was the scorer, following up a shot from Kevin Stratford that the goalkeeper fumbled.
Colin Brown shook Marconi - and the goal post - with a tremendous shot that bounced back into play and the Sun team were soon appealing for a goal when a header was scooped away from under Marconi's crossbar.
The appeals were turned down.
The winning goal was reserved until nine minutes from the end when Colin Brown dribbled round a defender and turned a fine shot from 15 yards into the net.
