Sun Sports 0 Bedmond 2 1963/64 Herts Intermediate Cup
Bedmond blot out the Sun
There was little amiss with Sun's defence but the side's forwards let them down badly in this Herts Intermediate Cup match on Saturday.
By midway through the first half the team had played well enough to emerge winners, but after this the forwards fell away and did not have a worthwhile shot at goal.
In fact Sun's defenders looked more capable of scoring than their attackers.
Bedmond, nevertheless, found the need for plenty of defensive work in the second half.
Their forwards, although lacking finesse, scored once in each half through Reg Baldwin and Dave Muffitt.
Sun must be hoping for the early return of their injured centre forward Terry Reynolds to bring their goal drought to an end.
One player of the printer's side who emerged with credit was Glyn East, whose enterprising play at left half deserved better reward.
