A fair result

The wind made Friday's tussle between Stevenage Res. and Sun Sports a game of two parts, and the result was a fair reflection of the play.
The Sun scored first after eight minutes, through Sumpter, and with the wind in their favour should have consolidated their position.
Fifteen minutes from the end Gears equalised for Stevenage.

Sun were great triers

Although they were good triers and had a good share of the play, Sun forfeited County League points to a well balanced side possessing plenty of football craft.
Sun put in plenty of attacks in the early stages and at the end of 15 minutes Sumpter gave them the lead.
Compton put Sun two up just before half time, but within 15 minutes of the restart Stanstead were leading 4-2, and although Maley scored a grand goal for the Sun, Stanstead took their score to five before the close.
