Sun Sports 0 Boreham Wood Saints 3 1958/59 HCL Div One
Sun lose a record
A black Saturday indeed for Sun...not only because they suffered their second defeat of the season, but also because, for the first time, they failed to find the net.
Sun should have scored - Micky Brightman shot tamely when he was put through early in the game - but the Saints deserved their win.
They were fast and sure in their tackling and their forwards shot with winning power.
They built up their 3-0 margin before half time, and the best that can be said for Sun is that they held their visitors at bay in the second half.
Too often they played into their opponents hands by short passing when the long ball, might have brought greater penetration.
Rod Palmer, however, had bad luck in the second half when his shot hit the foot of an upright.
