Sun rally too late

The seasonal epidemic of colds weakened the Sun's team for this cup game, and it took most of the first half for them to get some smoothness into their play.
By that time they were trailing and the leeway was too much to make up.
After 35 minutes Bovingdon were leading 5-0, although there had not been much difference territorially.
A pile driver from Jack Patterson brought them an encouraging goal before half time, and they had most of the play on the resumption.
But they missed a penalty, and Bovingdon came back to score another goal before Patterson got on the target again.
Then with the score beginning to bear the semblance of respectability, Bovingdon promptly added a seventh.
