Sun Sports 3 Peverley's Press 1 1955/56 St Barts Printers Cup Semi-Final
Sun there for the fifth time
Sun have reached the final of this competition for the fifth time since the war, but they certainly did not produce their best form in the semi-final.
Peverley scored through Ambridge in the ninth minute, and held the lead for 28 minutes.
Sun wore them down in the second half, but Peverley's had had to carry on minus one of their players, who left the field with a twisted knee.
Sun equalised in the 37th minute when a right wing corner went over to the opposite wing and was returned into the goal for Phil Bass to head in.
Both goals had narrow escapes, but the second half was a story of missed chances by Sun.
As a result, the game went into extra-time, when plucky, depleted Peverley faded and first Phil Bass and then Kenny scored for the Sun.
