Sun Sports 4 De Havillands (Leavesden) 1                   1951/52                         HCL Div One

Sun's all-round strength

Sun's all-round strength in defence and clever forward line made them worthy winners in this Friday morning match.
They had the aid of the wind in the first half and their first goal came after 15 minutes when Chamberlain's right wing centre was passed on by Newstead for Moulder to score.
Twenty minutes later, Wicks put them two up.
In the second half, De Havillands had slightly the more forward play, but the Sun were still more dangerous in front of goal and it was no surprise when Newstead converted a centre by Beach after 15 minutes.
Four minutes from the end Beach took the score to four after good work by Moulder and Newstead.
Littlejohn scored for De Havillands when everyone expected an "offside" whistle.
Spratt had a good game for De Havillands.
