Sun Sports 6 C& E Laytons 0 1953/54 St Barts Printers Cup
Can Sun do it again?
Sun, who have figured in three post war finals of this competition, winning the trophy once, got off to a good start in the first round of this year's competition.
Against a team of triers from the London Business Houses League, Sun showed early on that they were out to improve on recent performances.
They did - and won at a canter, qualifying to meet Fleetway Press in the next round.
From the start the home were dominant, and after ten minutes O'Doherty passed out to Ashcroft and met the winger's return to open the scoring.
Ten minutes later Boyle scored the second goal.
They run riot in the second half, D Cutler scored a couple.
P Watt also found the net, as did A Ashcroft, the latter's goal coming direct from a corner kick.
