Fleetway Press 0 Sun Sports 4                     1953/54                        St Bart's Printers Cup

Sun do it again! Another triple success

Sun Sports did it again on Saturday.
For the second week running, three of their four teams were in action and all won.
In the second round of the St Bart's (Printers) Cup, the first team had a 4-0 win over Fleetway Press, playing the more impressive football throughout.
Boyle put them one up before the interval, and in the second half, Watt added three goals to make sure of Sun passing on to the semi-final.
The Reserves beat Royston Town Reserves 2-1 in a Herts County League match at Parkside Drive, where they were captained by E Conner, playing his last game before being called up for National Service.
Royston played good football, but Sun's finishing was better, McDonald gave them the lead after 30 minutes, and although Royston equalised in the second half, along came R Palmer with a winner for the Sun.
To complete the "treble", Sun's Under 18 XI had a 2-0 win over Scammells in the West Herts Benevolent Cup.
Both goals came in the first half - via L Mellor and J Beck.
