London Colney 5 Sun Sports 1 1956/57 HCL Premier
It wasn't as bad as it looked
It might not look it from the score, but Sun were far from disgraced by a strong London Colney side on Saturday.
The home team led by the only goal at half time and only in the last quarter of an hour, during which they scored three times, did they really clinch the issue.
Sun's goal first fell in the fifth minute to a high, curling shot.
Any Colney hopes of building up a substantial half time lead, however, were rudely shaken and in fact Sun should have equalised.
It was not until the 58th minute that the home side scored again, but this was offset in the 70th minute when the Colney keeper was adjudged to have been bundled over the line with the ball in his arms.
There was a difference of opinion over this goal between the goalkeeper and the linesman which, no doubt, inspired London Colney to their late onslaught rewarded with three goals.
